tea henny has just released his new song 'hey cutie <3' inspired by a text message title he received5/25/2021
TEA HENNY is a British indie, R&B and pop artist. Early influences included Outkast, Gorillaz and Jack Johnson. Later, inspiration came from Frank Sinatra, Mac Miller and Prince.
At eight and a half, with an ‘84 strat, Tea launched his musical career. He learnt to write and sing songs and crafted his musical ear. He co-founded the Bourne Bap rap collective and performed at sold-out club events as DJ producer and small-time rapper around the UK. At 19, he moved to London and Abbey Road Institute to pursue big-time producer dreams. He learnt a bunch, but never enough about the music industry. Tea produced notable sessions and released three neo-soul records with Dayo Bello, amassing over 500k streams. Now, focused on developing personal artistry, and thanks in great part to the Abbey Road team, the tools of music creation became increasingly transparent. Tea learnt to channel imagination, through voice and instrumentation, free from restrictions of technical incompetence. In 2020, Tea Henny has released his first two solo singles, formed alt-rock project staring at the ceiling, and has more recently been working on music videos, photo shoots and selling merchandise. Tea has kept himself busy during Covid-19 with mixing, mastering and structuring upcoming releases. His latest track is a text message title called 'hey cutie <3', which was released on 13th May 2021. "This song was inspired by the pulse of 'Men I Trust', a Canadian indie pop band from Canada, I recorded a drum loop. A year later, I layered up the guitar. Chords, percussion, distorted riffs and bass. The song is about caring for someone and not receiving that same care in return".
