31 year old Hip-Hop artist Joesix already has a substantial back catalogue to his name and he has already begun to establish himself as a prominent name on the scene. Crafting himself a distinct sound, 'Beauty Queen' sees Joe blending a mix of soul, funk and R&B to create a single that is truly exciting and fiendishly danceable.
Beauty Queen was inspired by 90’s classic songs - Charles and Eddie’s ‘Would I Lie To You’ and Mike & The Mechanics ‘Over My Shoulder’. “These songs helped me open up and talk about my feelings. As men we don’t talk about how we truly feel about women. We are seen as soppy to our mates, so we put on a front.” “This song is dedicated to all the women out there. It doesn't matter how old you are or what you look like. We are living in a world where everyone is being judged. Every woman out there is beautiful in their own way. I want every woman to feel good about themselves.” The song is based on past relationships and tells of the quest to find the perfect woman, but upon finding her, believing that you will never be good enough for her. It is a plea to give the relationship a chance but expresses the disappointment that this was a love that was doomed to failure. The upbeat funk and summer vibe provide the perfect opportunity to forget the misery and put your cares behind you. “I didn’t want to create a sad song, more something that reflects my upbeat personality!”
