debut track 'slow with it' hails the arrival of emerging gen-z writer/vocalist l'ray (luhray)8/24/2020
'Slow With It', a vibrant & empowered female perspective on modern swipe right culture. Jam packed with unapologetic honesty and a hint of shade, this summer anthem is sliding into your musical dm's on August 14th on all stores.
Blending Hip Hop, RnB and Gospel with heavy hitting 808 beats and energetic synths, L'Ray is announcing her arrival as an important and dynamic voice in new music culture. “In this song I wanted to spread a positive message about taking your time in a relationship, at whatever pace you want to. Don't feel pressured to rush anything if you aren't comfortable. And this isn't just for the female audience, it happens on both sides. One of the lyrics in the song is 'respect me or leave'. Standing for what you want not what others think you should or shouldn't be doing. That's your business”. Born and raised by her punk parents in the shadows of the abandoned iron and steel works of Derwent Valley in Northern England, L'Ray, grew up singing in her hometown church. Surrounded by her parents eclectic musical tastes she began to bring together a range of influences from Bob Marley to Siouxsie Sioux from Musicals to Grime. 'Slow With It' is the first of many tracks slated for release in 2020/21. insta : @lapostropheray twitter : @lapostropheray facebook : facebook.com/lapostropheray
